The Video Shakespeare

O sleep! O gentle sleep!
Nature’s soft nurse, how have I frighted thee,
That thou no more wilt weigh my eyelids down
And steep my senses in forgetfulness?
Why rather, sleep, liest thou in smoky cribs,
Upon uneasy pallets stretching thee,
And hush’d with buzzing night-flies to thy slumber,
Than in the perfum’d chambers of the great,
Under the canopies of costly state,
And lull’d with sound of sweetest melody? ~2 Henry IV” (3.1.7-16)

Next month is the bard’s birthday. I think I’ll celebrate it by going to bed early. If you get a hankering for some Shakespeare, check out The Video Shakespeare, videos of most of his plays online for free!

Don’t you just love all this buried treasure I’m digging up? Doncha? Yoo hoo!

I’m sure you can’t wait to get some gentle sleep. You’re doing a good job, Carmon. I go for days without putting anything on my blog, and you’re cranking out posts every half hour while sleep deprived–and for a good cause too. I’m impressed.

Great job Carmon. I have been exhorted, encouraged, and educated by your posts, many times with a smile on my face. Thank you and have a restful slumber.

Now that’s a goldmine! I clicked on “The Taming of the Shrew” and went to the end to hear Kate’s speech. After her speech and the bits of convo following, the group sang Psalm 128 – it was lovely.

Congrats Carmon, you exceeded your goal!

Thank you for doing this and making a sacrifice. I hope your sweet children are quiet for you today so you can catch up. Maybe they can go for a nice long walk with their sisters. And then when you wake up…enjoy your mocha :)

    Kelly,

That must be the John Cleese Taming which I really enjoyed.

    Carmon,

You are asleep and I just woke up. Good job!
I am looking forward to reading through the posts I missed.
Now to my own cup of coffee…
